RedBull Cliff Diving Debut

Joining the growing list of Canadian athletes in the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series, Zita Bernatsky makes her debut in Antalya in September.

The 17-year-old high school student first fell in love with diving when, at the age of just eight, she plucked up the courage to leap from the 10m platform on her second day of diving camp. Ultimately, it was high diving that came calling a few years later when her coach recommended she join the new junior high diving programme.

Bernatsky’s first experience at the World Series came at Red Bull Under My Wiiings in Mostar, where she received invaluable insights into cliff diving from the legend Orlando Duque, and also got the chance to leap from 20m for the first time, off the iconic Stari Most.

Describing herself a curious, driven and stubborn, Bernatsky also speaks three languages fluently – English, French and Hungarian. One day she’d like to pursue a career as a firefighter or a pathologist, but not before she sees where this first World Series appearance will lead her.
